Who we are
Impact House is a registered children’s home under the auspices of U Mephi, the welfare department of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa. The house is owned by the AFM of South Africa in Edenvale (Impact Congregation) and was established as a satellite home of the U Mephi project in January 2002.
All the children in our care have been placed here by Court Order through the Welfare system.
What we do
At Impact House we take care of a diverse group of children with diverse needs, so we strive, not just to provide for the basic needs of the children in our care, but our goal is to establish a normal and loving family atmosphere irrespective of race, religion or gender.
We also aim to ensure that each child is effectively equipped with a solid education and necessary life skills, and guided to make informative decisions with regards to their future.
How we do it
The day to day running is in the very capable and experienced hands of 2 wonderful house parents, Annatjie & Raymond, and a team of six committee members.
However, different children we have different sets of needs and interests and we want to ensure that each of them has the best opportunity to become the very best person that they can be. To ensure this there is a great responsibility to provide in all the areas of their educational, sporting, cultural and recreational needs.
As a result, we are constantly sourcing for sustainable resources in order to keep the project viable, and rely heavily on help from the community. Donations in the form of food, good quality clothing and school needs are welcome. Our biggest challenge; however is to have a steady income which will provide for the maintenance and development of our children in all areas.
